THE DUAL PERSPECTIVE

I bring a dual perspective to every product I touch — the engineering fluency to build it, and the design sensibility to make it matter. This isn't a split identity; it's an integrated one, forged over two decades of working at the intersection of pixels and production code.

My career spans startups across AI infrastructure, developer tools, healthcare, and finance. I've been a founding-era hire three times, which means I know what it takes to build from scratch — to make decisions under uncertainty, to ship when it matters, and to create processes that scale without calcifying.

"I don't just direct work; I architect solutions, guide execution, and invest in the growth of every team member."

At MinIO, I led design for AI-native infrastructure products — AIStor, Orb, and a comprehensive design system serving developers and data engineers at some of the world's largest organizations. The challenge: making enterprise-grade distributed object storage feel approachable without dumbing it down.

Before that, at HONK Technologies, I designed the accident photo capture flow that reduced insurance claims cycle time by 93%. At Ambassador Labs, I brought Telepresence — a powerful but CLI-only developer tool — into the IDE, increasing developer efficiency by 30%.

I've learned to love constraints. The tightest technical limitations have produced some of my best design decisions. When you can't add more, you have to make what exists work harder. That philosophy bleeds into everything — from component architecture to team culture.

I'm a practitioner of AI-augmented design workflows. Not as a replacement for craft, but as an accelerant. I use AI tooling to prototype faster, research deeper, and iterate further — which means more time for the high-judgment decisions that actually move the needle.

WHAT I DO

DESIGN LEADERSHIP

Shaping product direction, building design systems, mentoring designers, and orchestrating seamless design-to-dev handoffs that actually stick.

ENGINEERING

Front-end architecture and design system implementation. I write the code that bridges design intent and production reality.

CSS Architecture Component Libraries Accessibility

AI INTEGRATION

Practical AI tooling woven into real workflows — accelerating teams without sacrificing craft. I design products that make AI intelligible.

PHILOSOPHY

01

SHIP TO LEARN

Perfect is the enemy of shipped. I favor rapid iterations validated by real users over elaborate prototypes validated by assumptions. Learning comes from contact with reality.

02

EMPATHY BEFORE ASSUMPTIONS

Every design decision starts with the question: who is this for, and what do they actually need? Not what we think they need. Not what's easy to build. What actually serves them.

03

INVISIBLE DESIGN

The best interfaces disappear. When a user completes a complex task without noticing the UI, that's the goal. Design that calls attention to itself has already failed.

04

CONSTRAINTS AS FUEL

Technical limitations are not blockers — they're creative prompts. The tightest constraints have produced my best work, forcing elegance where abundance would have produced bloat.
